"It's fine, Jee," Eddie says. "Buck doesn't have to kiss me."
"Yes he does." Jee crosses her arms and looks sternly at Buck. "Daddy and Mommy kiss every time when they go away from each other."
"Yeah, okay." Buck sucks in a breath and steps towards Eddie. He ducks his head down and presses the most fleeting kiss to Eddie's cheek.
"Not like that," Jee scolds.
"What? Why not?" Buck squawks.
"Because," she sighs and gives him a long, disapproving look. "Mommy and Daddy always kiss on the lips."

“It’s gonna be a lot more fun with you and Chris there,” Buck finally says. “I was worried I’d be the only one there without a kid.”
The world stops for a moment. Eddie feels himself freeze as Buck’s words register. The voices around them pause. Eddie can’t tell if they’ve actually stopped talking or if he simply can’t hear anything else.
OR
While Eddie is still recovering mentally from being shot, the 118 goes to a remote lakehouse for a well-deserved vacation. Along the way, Eddie realizes that he and Buck have built a life together.

Buck gets home on an ordinary Tuesday evening, after a long and grueling shift that had him dead on his feet and a goal to crash into the couch as fast as possible, only to be met with Eddie sprawled on top of it, a tiny curled up furball on his chest, right underneath his chin.
The slight frown Buck is sporting between his eyebrows all but disappears the moment he lays his eyes on the image in front of him, taking it all in. Eddie’s mouth is curved up in a playful smile, pointing a finger at the little kitten who just opened its eyes, green and shiny, looking at Buck with a scowl… a scowl? Since when can cats scowl?
“Welcome home, Buck. Meet Luna.”
Or: Eddie's new kitten isn't too fond of Buck, so he tries everything in his powers to get closer to her while also navigating his new found feelings for his best friend.
