Summary
After sneaking into the room where the Arkenstone is kept safe, a young prince Thorin touches it and a strange burning mark appears on his palm, moments before the jewel bursts apart and something hatches from it.
Turns out that it wasn't a jewel after all, but an egg — a dragon egg. And the dragon and Thorin are now connected physically and mentally, able to communicate through their thoughts.
Somehow, Thorin doesn't mind at all.
(Or: The Arkenstone is found when Thorin is a child, it's actually a dragon egg, Bilbo hatches from it, and they fall in love)

Summary
Bilbo Baggins, the newly appointed Master of Bag End, has just reached his majority. He lives alone in his fine house, managing his estate, and ignoring the people of Hobbiton as much as they avoid him. When a storm lands him with an unexpected (and unwelcome) little visitor, all Bilbo wants to do is find the baby Dwarf's missing family so he can get back to his own life.

Khajimel = gift of all gifts
At this instant he had known that he could never be king. Thrór had become sick with gold lust after the death of his wife ... his One. The pain had been too much to bear for his grandfather and so he had hardened his heart and mind, becoming cold and bitter. In the end Thorin hadn't recognised him anymore.
For all Dworin-lovers: This will be mostly Thilbo. So don't be too disappointed that Dwalin plays a rather small role in the first chapters. I hope nonetheless that the last chapter of this part will compensate for the long waiting time.
