Summary
They’re here, bathed in moonlight and wrapped in each other’s arms, TK finally accepting the love he knows he deserves, and Carlos finally accepting the love he never thought he’d have. In a way, there’s so many shades of tragic in that, and yet it’s unquestionably beautiful.
TK can attest to the fact that nothing good in life ever comes easy, and Carlos is the best thing he’s ever known.

TK’d tried to wait up – Carlos knows that in an instant without it needing to be explained. That’s why the lights are still on. That’s why the television has that faint gray glow of the streaming service TK’d been using shut itself down from inactivity, but the TV hasn’t turned off. That’s why there’s a mug of likely ice-cold tea sitting half drunk on a coaster on the coffee table, with the tea bag still sitting at the bottom of it. He’d tried to wait for Carlos to get home after his shift, and he hadn’t made it. It’s the sweetest, most thoughtful gesture, and it’s far from the first time he’s done this and it’s far from the last time Carlos will feel warm all over because of it.
