"You're so adorable. A sad, lost puppy, so loyal yet so lonely." The blond says in that same taunting tone, a teasing grin on his face. "You crave for someone to take the lead, don't you? Must be terrible, for someone like you to be on your own. I can give you what you need."

The more Viktor looked at him, the more certain he was of it. His Yuuri was there, a shadow turned into flesh and ice and a soul that burned bright. Yuuri, his beloved Yuuri, the Yuuri that had been taken from him so many years ago was there before him, alive and well.
Problem was, things were very different from then, and the secret language they used to share had been lost somewhere across the years. This was the same Yuuri, but not quite his Yuuri anymore.

The talk was mostly about solid state chemistry, and Yuuri's true passion was more on the lines of organic synthesis, but Dr. Nikiforov made it sound... so fascinating. Perhaps the fact that his internship project was precisely related to solid state chemistry was... fate?
Maybe one day, if things worked out just right, he would become Viktor's colleague.
