Summary
When Katsuki was young, and his quirk had yet to develop, he used to hang out with Izuku a lot. He knew him better than anyone, when Izuku was crying during school breaks because of some grades he fucked up, Katsuki was the one everyone was coming to, asking what had happened to the boy.
It felt like a privilege at the time. He would be sitting next to Izuku, the green haired boy crying into his own hands as Katsuki would pat his back. People would walk to them, and ask the blond what was going on. He would tell them not to worry, and wouldn’t tell anyone about it, exactly as Izuku had asked him to.
After he developed his quirk, it changed. Right now, Izuku was crying in the hallway, Ochaco sitting right next to him and when Denki had asked what was happening, Ochaco had shook her head, making him understand that Izuku was not ready to talk about it.
Katsuki wasn’t the one who knew Izuku more than anyone anymore.
He was a classmate, he was one of those people who could walk and ask the question, and never get a real answer. He could text Izuku but he knew he would dodge the question, because Katsuki knew him still.
And when Izuku didn’t want to talk about his problems, he never did.
