Melinoë wonders if this is how it felt to be one of Icarus’ wax sculptures, built with reverent precision, sliding thickly under his fingers as she melts into his touch that dimples the surface of her skin. Her ear, oversensitive now, takes on the colour of a sunset, one which Icarus has not seen in centuries but nonetheless cannot forget. He wouldn’t believe ichor could even turn this colour had he not seen it himself.
