A part of Cater told him to walk away, to rejoin the others in the light and laughter and music, and pretend that he could move on from this. He'd moved on from plenty of people before, after all. He'd perfected the art of not looking back.
And yet... And yet...
Cater slowly turned back around. "What didja wanna talk about?"
Malleus walked over to the railing and rested his hands upon the stone. He took a moment to stare up at the new moon that Cater had also been gazing at. Then, without turning around, he murmured, "Your dream."
