For a moment, Nya wishes she could see the smug look on his face so she could rip it off. “What? Can’t I have a normal, friendly conversation with my girlfriend?”
He comes into her peripheral, leaning his back against the counter with his arms crossed. Her blood boils watching him be so nonchalant. So indifferent.
She clenches her fists and storms towards him, staring dead into his pupils. A grin is spread across his lips as he dangles a proverbial forbidden fruit between her eyes. “You,” Nya hisses, “are incredibly annoying.”
“And you,” Jay hums, “want your teeth in my neck.”

“Ha ha, very funny.” Thomas steps one foot into the rink, hand squeezing around Newt to comfort him.

The boy looks around Thomas's age, give or take, with dusty blond curls adorning his head like a crown, and rose-dusted cheeks. Still captivated by the boy’s flawless complexion, his hearing eventually returns, and Thomas notices a sweetly accented voice coming from his paper-thin, pink lips. Once the chatter ceases, Thomas quickly redirects his attention back to his hands, hoping the flush on his cheeks isn’t too obvious.
Thomas isn’t sure if it’s just his brain teasing him, but the guy’s hot. Like, really hot.
