The reason why he's here was simply on a whim. He's heard they were selling miniature portraits of the late Marchioness of Neuschwanstein, Shuri von Neuschwanstein.
They were selling miniature portraits of the daughter of God, the noblest lady in the empire, Nora found it laughable.
If she was a daughter of God then she deserved so much better than this. Better than children who berated her to the point that she cried when no one was looking.
That's how he met her. Crying all by herself out of site so as to not burden anyone. She was hurt(ing), just like him.
They were both hurt(ing).
There were people who Nora recognized as middle-class citizens by their clothing and he saw a few noble ladies. Apparently, a trend was going on that it was considered 'good' to own a portrait or a miniature one of the deceased Marchioness to show support for the Imperial Family and the empire.
Just like one would own artwork depicturing a saint or the Virgin Mary. Or how one would own a bible or prayer beads.
