Before his father could berate him further, the shoji doors at the far end of the room slid open with a faint, deliberate shhhh of paper against wood. Gojo glanced up lazily—then blinked.
Standing there, framed in golden lamplight, was the most handsome man Gojo had ever seen.
Gone was the mask from the night before. Gone was the military uniform and the tight topknot. The man—Getou Suguru, presumably—wore a dark, embroidered montsuki with a rich indigo haori that shimmered subtly when he moved. His long black hair was no longer tied back but left loose, cascading down his back like a river of ink. His features, now fully visible, were sharp and perfectly symmetrical—strikingly handsome, almost unreal.
Gojo stared, mouth slightly open. Was this... Was this to be his Arranged Consort?

Satoru’s been trying to piss off Suguru all day.
Speaking loudly when they are at quiet places, stealing Suguru’s lunch when he’s not paying attention, interrupting anyone who tries to talk with him, making stupid comebacks…. he’s trying it all. And the worst part is not that Suguru’s not getting mad at him, but that he’s been snickering at his antics with that sultry laugh of his, looking at him in a way Satoru doesn’t really understand, but still makes his stomach flip and his voice stutter pathetically.
