Mostly about letting people into your life and letting them change your way of life: how caring for others can ultimately help you care for yourself.

“Miles, don’t,” Phoenix cut him off. He took a deep, shuddering breath. “Because if you ask me, I’ll do just about anything. I’d go along. I’d love you recklessly for as long as I could until everything fell apart.” He attempted to put on a smile. It wasn’t convincing. “I don’t think a whole alphabet of exhibits could convince me you’re ready for a relationship that would actually be good for both parties.”
Phoenix is in love with Miles. Miles is in love with Phoenix. These are both matters of public record, and yet they aren't in a relationship. But the prosecution is willing to present evidence — exhibits A through Z, to be exact — to prove that they should be.

Summary
“what if they don’t wanna be my friends in the future…?”
Gregory’s heart broke at that question. His fears aren’t unwarranted, it was common for people to fear losing their friends, especially when these were Miles' first friends. What was he supposed to say to that?
But, upon closer inspection, it looked like they were all really close. You could even say, inseparable. Phoenix seemed like a loyal kid, and Larry seemed like someone who’d stick by them often. And Miles obviously loves his friends, to the point he already fears losing them. They all seem to enjoy each other’s company and make each other comfortable. Gregory thinks this friendship will last a long long while.

He could always see them, even as a child, though the first he’d truly seen was his mother. Before her, they were only wisps of light or shifting shadows, vague suggestions of something else in the room that only Phoenix could see, and couldn’t understand. The lights would flicker, the temperature would drop to freezing, or he’d feel something at his back that wasn’t quite the wind. He didn’t talk about it much, since no one else seemed to notice. The one time he had brought it up, his father chalked it up to the age of their house and the unreliability of the electricity.
Phoenix, as a child, could almost believe that theory if lights didn’t flicker in places that weren’t his house, or if he didn't walk through cold spots on hot summer days.--
Phoenix is an artist, struggling to heal after the death of a close friend. When his best friend, Maya, brings him to a quiet house in the countryside to spark some inspiration, he finds the house isn't as quiet as it seems, and a ghost of his past may be walking the halls.

Most of Miles' decisions were well-thought out. They made sense. They were logical. Safe. The decision to stay in Phoenix's guest room while he worked on his dissertation, however, had been made entirely on a whim-- and no matter how he tried to keep it all together, it was going to drag him as far from his comfort zone as he'd ever been, whether he liked it or not.
Phoenix had been in love with Miles Edgeworth for years; what they had now was perfect, though, and he would never dream of asking for anything else. Even so, inviting the man into his home for an unknown period of time was bound to unearth some truths... could it really be that they were more on the same page than he'd ever thought possible?
