    He threw the cover off himself and walked to the kitchen, getting himself a glass of water. His nightmares were becoming less frequent, but that just made them hurt more when they did happen.

    Ash breathed slowly, sighing into his glass. It wasn’t real. He knew it wasn’t real. Eiji was alive. Everyone was alive. He made sure that no one could follow him to Japan. He made sure that they were all dead before he got on that plane.

    Ash sipped at his glass, watching the hands of the clock strike past 2am. Past 3am. The dark thoughts had left him tired and empty. Just like his glass.
