Summary
Verso wakes up, and he is… comfortable. Warm and safe, peaceful; it’s been so long since he…
A heart is beating under his cheek, strong and steady. His head is resting on a chest that is rising and falling slowly — calm breathing of a man fast asleep. There is an arm on his waist that is holding him relaxedly, sleepy. A soft blanket separates him from the world.
He remembers.

Summary
…and one time he didn’t have to.
Therefore, when Verso starts being weird, Monoco immediately notices it.
Verso suddenly stumbles over his words. He trips when there’s no obstacle in his way. He fails parries that he could’ve done in his sleep previously. He spills food all over himself constantly. And his gaze lingers, particularly on one person. Day-in, day-out.
Gustave.

Summary
“Hello, are you listening to me?”
But the man at the piano does not answer. His eyes remain closed as his hands expertly dance across the ivory keys, switching songs to a more somber tune played in doloroso. It’s nothing like any of the music he’s heard in Lumière, but it sounds almost familiar…like something he’s heard long ago.
He tries to ignore the hollowed out feeling carving at his chest and instead reaches his hand out to touch the man on his shoulder. “Don’t you hear me?”
The man’s hands still on the piano, the somber song coming to an abrupt end as his eyes shoot open—wide and pale blue that shine under the faint light of the campsite—and turns to look straight at Gustave. “You can see me?”
“Yes, you are rather difficult to miss,” Gustave replies, giving into his teasing nature in spite of everything. “What with that unruly mane of yours covering the lovely view of the Paintress.”
Instead of the record player, there is a strange self-playing piano at camp...except it isn't self-playing, and only Gustave can see its pianist.

Summary
Verso Dessendre needs a fake boyfriend for his family's annual Christmas trip to the Alps.
Gustave Rénier—his childhood crush and the man he hasn't seen in ten years—needs a reason to say yes to something reckless for once in his carefully organized life.
What starts as a week of pretense in a snow-covered chalet becomes something neither of them expected: late-night conversations, stolen touches, and the slow realization that some things were never fake to begin with.
Seven days. One bed. Two people who've been wanting each other for far too long.
Sometimes the best love stories start with a lie.
