Satoru almost wants to laugh. “That’s funny,” he muses, glancing down at Yuji’s face. “I had a dream I was still in there, too.”
At the sullen look in Yuji’s eyes, Satoru brings his other arm up to wrap around his waist so they’re embracing properly, now. “It was just a dream,” he murmurs, holding onto him tight. “For both of us. I’m here, aren’t I?”
Finally reunited in the aftermath of the Culling Games, Satoru and Yuji wake from twin nightmares one night and take comfort in each other. But anxieties weigh heavy on both of their shoulders, and telling the truth about why isn't as simple as it used to be.
