Ratio presses one of the buttons, and the screen lights up. The numbers on it flash for a moment before settling at 0.200.

“In this area alone, the concentration of ambient memoria is 200 millisomni per square inch. Not enough to induce hallucinations, but we may have some interesting dreams while we’re here. And the citizens of Vara-II have been having such dreams likely their entire lives. The effects of nuclear radiation on memoria have not been studied, so I can’t say for sure what effects this has had on their societal development. But I doubt it’s helped them keep a level head.”

(During a negotiation on a planet with a history of IPC-enabled nuclear warfare, Aventurine and Ratio get stuck alone in an old fallout shelter-turned-museum after a bomb drops, with Aventurine severely injured. They've got the supplies to last until an IPC rescue ship can arrive, but the planet's already-unstable memoria has been stirred up, and they're periodically forced to relive the memories of the shelter's original inhabitants. And things didn't go well for the shelter's original inhabitants.)

    Summary

“Have I done something to offend you?”

Aventurine practically heard a record scratch as his naughty daydream came to a halt. “No. Why would you think that?”

“Your feathers,” Ratio admitted a little awkwardly. “They’re... alert again.”

    . ♤ . ♡ . ♢ . ♧ .

As a peacock harpy, Aventurine is used to knowing when to artfully strut his stuff to gain an advantage. That all goes out the window when a gorgeous new centaur in town keeps involuntarily triggering his biological response to attract a mate.

Despite the constant blunders and misunderstandings, Aventurine finds himself growing closer and closer to the beautiful and clever man named Ratio. Harpy behaviours are thankfully one of the few things the doctor lacks knowledge in but just how long can Aventurine keep up his nonchalant facade when his tail feathers cause a scene whenever the stallion does so much as smile in his direction?

    or,

Centaur Ratio is none the wiser as harpy Aventurine may as well have a flashing neon sign above his head reading, 'Please Rail Me!'

    Summary

'The Veritas Syndrome' is a new research paper, currently drafted by Dr. Ratio. He believed that through affirmations, positive feedback and education, people who suffered severely from substance abuse or low self-esteem could better their lives. Under the right circumstances, that should have worked quickly on anybody...

But the Aventurine of Stratagems was different. He was a wild card, a Gambler and a buffoon by any standard. He'd avoided their meetings at first, showed up under the influence, and even dared to confront Ratio with a gun, all in an attempt to scare him out of Jade's contract. However, something shifts between them.
The Avgin man's demeanour slowly improves until one day he makes the Doctor an offer he cannot resist.

This is Paha Isle and, more importantly, this is Nod-Krai. The Wild Hunt ravages the land and a moon walks among them. The people here know how to live with ghosts.

And this is a ghost story, in case that wasn’t clear.

a stranger washes up on the shores of the isle where flins has lived as long as anyone remembers. then, they start having dreams.
