He turned from the mirror, scooping up the purse he kept buried in the back of his closet and humming quietly to himself. He felt good. Excited. It was easy to ignore the tight coil in his chest - a wanting so sickly he couldn’t put a name to it.
Instead, he smears a bit of lipstick onto his lips, and cringes when they briefly flicker blue.
