At first, John found it folded up in one of the bedroom clothing drawers. It didn’t take long for them to figure out that it wasn’t an apron at all, but some piece of Jane’s lingerie Paul had forgotten was even there. It was frilly, silky, and had a ribbon that was supposed to be strapped real tight around the waist.
John stumbles upon Jane’s old lingerie, and it gives Paul an idea.

To think John had beautiful hands wasn’t that odd, exactly. John thought Paul was beautiful too and told him that more often than what was probably appropriate. But John, Paul was fairly certain, did not get aroused from watching Paul’s hands do the most mundane tasks. And he doubted John’s head ever filled itself with the lust-soaked thoughts he had to struggle with on a daily basis.

And Akira trains his face so he doesn't grimace. Historically, handcuffs haven't been associated with great things in his mind. But this is Goro, who he trusts, who he loves, who loves him, so he says:
"Sure, we could try it."
