She doesn’t sleep.
Not because she’s unsettled, but because she’s too settled. Too still. There’s a warm heaviness in her chest, and it’s not panic. That’s what scares her.
She thinks: God, I could do this every day.
She thinks: I want to do this every day.
She thinks: What if I need her?
But the voice that used to scream run is quiet now. It hasn’t disappeared. It’s just… hushed. Muted under the weight of Kara’s breathing and the way her fingers found Lena’s hip in sleep and haven’t moved since.

Lena Luthor is a bolter. She has rules and lives her life by paradigms she holds onto, dearly. Lovers come (enthusiastically) and go (broken-hearted) and Lena rinses and repeats. And then, inevitably, the universe puts Kara Danvers in front of her and suddenly it's crystal clear - this is her person. This is it. And now, there is nothing - and no one - Lena wants to commit to more.

Summary
Lena Luthor is curled up on her couch with a book propped up on her legs when a fiery orange blaze splits the sky in two. Not that she sees it, because she’s just about dozing off, glasses sitting askew on her nose, cheek smooshed up against the palm of her hand—but she does hear the thunderous crash coming from her backyard, and she certainly feels the way the entire house shakes from the impact.
When she pads over to the window to peer into her backyard, it’s completely dark. She can barely make out the familiar shapes of her garden through the inky blackness. Everything is still, except for an odd shape at the base of the huge oak tree in the far corner of the yard--which is on fire.
(Basically, what if Lena found Mon El's pod? I try and make Mon El a good character. Lena and Mon El form a friendship (the brotp you didn't know you wanted), Kara is very protective of Lena, and Lena is a gay mess. Drama ensues. Supercorp fall in love obvi)

“We’re going to get through tonight, like the loving couple we apparently are, and then we're going to figure out how to stop my brother for good. Alright?” She punctuates her sentence with a single raised eyebrow and Kara gulps, realising exactly what Lena is proposing.
They’re going to pretend to be together.
Together together.
“Like a fake relationship?” she asks.
“Yes.” Lena looks at her with a cool detached smile. “You’ve had some practice, this should be easy for you, right?”
kara wakes up to an earth-prime that is full of surprises. a giant blue beebo, good guy lex luthor, and a wife...?
