In the dim light of a 1980s bar, Kim Seulgi, a South Korean pianist who fled an arranged marriage to escape her past, crosses paths with Nikolai Volkov, a Soviet soldier with a quiet intensity. Their first encounter is marked by Seulgi’s sharp rejection, but Nikolai doesn’t walk away. Instead, he becomes drawn to her despite her resistance and emotional walls. She doesn’t trust easily, nor does she care for connections, but something in him challenges her indifference.
Between a soldier bound by duty and a woman searching for her own path, an unlikely connection begins to form, complicated by the weight of their separate histories as they are bound to protect each other.
