“Why are you doing this to me?” Lightning says, his voice thick with something unrecognizable to Storm, “Do you take joy in seeing me fail? Is that why you mock me at every chance you get?” he drawls.
Storm is honestly a little taken aback, seeing his childhood hero at his door, mumbling at him. He wonders for a split second if he maybe shouldn’t say what he’s about to, but he pushes that concern to the back of his mind and spits out a reply.
“Yes, McQueen, my pride and joy in life is winning. If that means you're losing, I don’t have any problem with it.” Storm gives his most earnest smile, steps back into his trailer and closes the door a little harder than he should have.
