Since he heard the first phone, Finney knew his life would never go the way he expected. After running away at sixteen because his dad insisted he was going insane, Finney had been parading around as a private investigator and followed the call of the dead to put tortured souls to rest. Now, at twenty-two, Finney is stuck in the same cycle of solving cold cases without knowing what would come next. When his sister points him in the direction of his first 'live case' involving a serial killer and missing kids, Finney finds himself in North Denver and completely out of his comfort zone.
Nothing goes according to his usual plan and Finney, for the first time in his life, finds himself in a place that he isn't sure he wants to leave when he's done with his case. His longing to stay, however, is constantly overshadowed by the ringing of phones, the threat of a serial killer, and knowing he can never reveal the truth about himself.
