In retrospect, desire is what Adonis decides is unneeded. The desire to be with him, the desire to spend all of eternity with him - it doesn’t make sense for someone like him. In retrospect, maybe Souma can do better without him. Get a shot at real life. Fall in love with friends that are not Adonis, marry people that are not Adonis. Raise a family, live in a way that doesn’t bury his laughter under stone each and every time he finds it.
In this way, maybe he’ll be free, too. From the curse of watching a repetitive demise that will not go away anytime soon. And then maybe, he’ll be forgiven,A warm hand rests on his neck. Adonis’s gaze focuses just when the boy on top of him presses a fleeting kiss to his forehead, dark hair falling over his shoulders and on Adonis’s chest. Arms wrapped protectively around Souma, Adonis knows he’s failed again already.
