Harry hesitates. “He apparently didn’t know it was just a one time thing.”
Mitch stays silent, brown eyes watching Harry and waiting for an elaboration.
“He was waiting for me to call.”
“And you didn’t,” Mitch concludes.
“It was a one time thing!”
“Did you say you’d call?” Mitch tilts his head. He knows Harry too well.
“Well. Yes. But! That’s just something you say,” Harry shrieks and starts pacing, “like ‘break a leg’, or ‘happy birthday’ to a colleague, or—or! ‘I’ll see you later’ when you very clearly won’t. You know?”
He spins on his heels to judge the response.
Arms crossed like a disappointed parent, Mitch looks unimpressed.
Harry hadn't planned on seeing Louis again, not after that night. When he finds out his only competition for a very desired promotion is Louis, he spirals into a mess of trying to be a better coworker and person right before Christmas in hopes that he can outdo Louis' effortless effect on his office. If he manages to get his head out of his ass along the way, it’ll be a holiday miracle.

“Huh?” Harry asks, muffled by his forearm. He feels lips on his face and the tip of Louis’ nose against his ear when Louis repeats himself. Brain sluggish with sleep, it takes a moment for him to process the words, but his eyes snap open, and he’s met with darkness. He's got to be dreaming, there’s no way Louis just said what he thinks he said. “What did you say?”
He can see the vague shrug from Louis before he turns around to toss the towel with the pile of their discarded clothes. “Did you say…” he starts slowly, automatically slinging his arm around Louis as he gets back into bed and throws the blankets over them.
“That we should make a sex tape?” Louis asks rather nonchalantly for such a big proposition. He cuddles easily into the warm body and confirms, “Yes, I did.”

The low rumble of the kettle boiling sounds just as the person shifts his broad shoulders around to face Louis, his scent hitting the omega like a hurricane wind, knocking his heart into his stomach. Cedarwood and bergamot are about as unbearably familiar as the face of the alpha he’s loved for almost two decades — his floppy curls chopped short and all the extra chub around his cheeks gone, leaving behind a defined jaw and sharp nose.
