Summary
Not unexpectedly, Logan Roy throws his children on the railroad tracks with an angry steam engine barreling toward them.
They left like scolded pups with their tails between their legs. Trembling. It was sweltering earlier—even so as the sun dipped—but now the sweat was chilled on the back of her neck. Kendall's arm was hovering above her shoulder for fear Siobhan would lunge for his throat if he touched her.
She didn't give Kendall a lot of credit, but he was smart. She would lose it if he, ever so slightly, brushed the back of her neck. Even if it was just the corner of his shirt cuff tickling her as they left, she wouldn't be able to handle it. While Kendall kept Siobhan close without pushing her over the edge, he had a firm grip on Roman.
Kendall half-tugged him along, half-lifted him up—hand clutching just above Roman's elbow—that alone, was a telltale sign everything had gone to shit. Roman would sooner die than let anyone help him, much less touch him. Roman was limping like he'd been hit. They needed to find Connor.
The Roys try to regroup after getting mauled, but blood is yet to be drawn.

Summary
It was funny, how their lives had cyclically regressed. Suddenly, Connor was once again the person trying to keep everyone together, trying to be rational and forgiving in the face of hopelessness. He didn’t resent it- he’d always secretly liked it when his younger siblings needed him.
He didn’t like that Kendall hadn’t informed anyone where he’d gone that day.
He didn’t like that Roman’s scars weren’t healing.
