Akutagawa too had become associated with that comfort, though that was not something Atsushi could bring himself to admit quite yet. So Atsushi focused on Rashōmon instead, getting lost in its depths instead of the other man’s eyes.
Somehow, it had never occurred to him that the color of Akutagawa’s ability would change depending on his clothing. For the briefest moment, it had looked just as beautiful in white. The stark white had complimented Akutagawa’s atramentous eyes, a shining light of goodness within the constant black. He thought back to their promise, and in a way, the white felt symbolic.

Akutagawa was never a man with desire or need. Only the will to destroy, to take, to be feared. Though the weretiger saw him for just that in the beginning, their shared past and present are changing his opinions quickly.

Summary
A response to what Akutagawa had told him that day on the ship, when he’d fully intended to die, and then somehow didn’t; a twisted joke, for Akutagawa to survive only to watch the weretiger sacrifice his own life in return. What had the weretiger been thinking, at that moment? Had he really been so idiotic to believe that the action was a debt that needed to be repaid?
It irked Akutagawa to no end. Who did that weretiger think he was?
