Walking beside him on Etretat beach at night after Hawkmoth's defeat, Marinette realizes three things:
1. Her akuma-fighting partner, Adrien Agreste, smells too good.
2. This is a problem.
3. Okay, okay, she can admit (grudgingly) that she's still in love with him, yeah, but she has so many issues that get in the way.
Like what about Rena Furtive? What about all the times she used him like a battering ram and left him in the dark? What about all those stupid, stupid, stupid times she made him feel useless?
Fortunately for her, Adrien can hear her spiraling and takes matters into his own capable hands.

But the more she gets to know her, the more there's just...something about Marinette. Something Kagami can't stop thinking about. Something she can't shake. Maybe...something she doesn't want to lose.
Or: A typical (queer!!) college romance story, where finding yourself and finding love isn't as easy as it's supposed to be. But maybe it's worth it, in the end.
