Summary
"Even after Aurora gave me the gift of true free will, I held onto my weapons," Ramattra says. "I was treated like a rabid animal and my kin were put down like they were before my very eyes. This is an experience that is, ironically, so human. But to an empirically limited number... that is an experience only Omnics hold."
Emre's surprised to feel a hand slide down the length of his thigh. Gently hooking his hand under Emre's knee, Ramattra raises his leg.
"There's no ports on my legs," Emre gets out, blushing.
Ramattra looks for another moment, then hums. He rests the limb back on the cold ground gently. "You do not share that experience, but we are so much more alike than you may realize."

Summary
"Kid, there's a reason we stay away from the docks in the winter," Robin says. She cocks her hip, entirely disregarding their work to drive a hard stare through Jesse. "Your grandfather had to have been watching over you. I don't know how you didn't die of hypothermia."
"Fisherman saw me fall in. Got me out."
"Gabriel saved you?" Robin looks both ecstatic and horrified.
"Uh... I guess?" Jesse says, growing more and more unsettled. He works to remedy it with a cigarette despite Robin's quick glance of distaste. "Never got a name. Never asked for mine."

Summary
Of all things, wings on a human being has to be nothing but a cruel joke by God.
From a logistical standpoint, Reyes saw nothing but inconveniences everywhere he looked— the need for different wardrobes, tailoring all the regulatory armor to accommodate the feathered limbs, the additional medical leave needed for the molting— there was nothing redeeming about it.
On a personal side, he can’t deny that they’re at least pretty.

Summary
The problem with Whitaker is that Robby likes him too much.
He could lump it all in as genuine affection for the kid's future, as an earnest kind of desire to see him thrive in such a harsh environment.
But it's more than that, he knows, the clawing ache of want burning up his spine—he likes the tidbits he can catch in conversations, the banal oddities he knows from lingering and listening, the sharp pitch of his voice when he's arguing with Santos, the way he blinks at him, with wide, blue eyes and rumpled scrubs, perpetually exhausted.
OR: Robby wants and suffers and wants some more.

Summary
“Master Tim, would you like to join us for breakfast?”
And there it was. Tim didn’t turn to look at them, he could feel that Dick and Jason’s eyes were locked on his back. He knew they were glaring. Bruce had stopped typing, probably holding his breath and dreading the day Tim didn’t say no. He hated the silence that stretched every time as they waited for his answer, staring him down, just daring him to accept.
“I can’t tonight, but thank you for the invitation, as always.” He wished he could put a frustrated emphasis on the last two words, but who was he to be rude to Alfred? There was a short pause, then Bruce began typing again. He knew Jason and Dick were now probably looking at each other, relieved.
“Well, the invitation remains open, as always,” replied Alfred.
When the light indicated Tim had reached the surface via one of the Batcave’s back exits, Dick broke the silence that had settled since he left. “So much for him being more willing to stay for breakfast with Jason and I here. We’re zero for who knows how many tries, I’ve lost count.”
OR: The Waynes concoct plans to invite Tim into the pack. Tim schemes up ways to satisfy his need for pack without the Waynes finding out.
