Summary
He kicked his boot hard into her side, and she rolled over in pain. Her head was so, so foggy, and now it hurt to breathe. She couldn’t die like this. She didn’t want to die. But then Joel’s words from a few months back echoed in her head saying “they’ll have way more in mind than that.” She already knew that. But hearing it now, in the back of her mind was not helping her situation in the slightest. When David locked her in that cage, he made his intentions quite clear. This… monster wanted way more than the meager amount of supplies she had in her pack. He wanted to break her in a way that she wouldn’t recover from, and she couldn’t let that happen.
She was already down when he grabbed her. He pinned her arms above her head with his hands and his legs and hips around hers. She was held tight to the floor, and she could barely move at all. What was she supposed to do? She was screaming so loud her throat hurt, and she tried to fight him off with any remaining strength she could muster. She spat in his face, but he replied with a sinister smile saying, “I thought you already knew. The fighting is the part I like the most.”
“Don’t be afraid,” he reassured. “There is no fear in love.”

Summary
A wholesome hurt/comfort fic with Ellie and Joel. Ellie has a panic attack, and Joel does his best to comfort her. It takes place during the three month time jump after Kansas City. (I wrote this after episode 7 but before episode 8, so before Silver Lake and the cannibals)

Why did she have to be the one person in the fucking world to be immune?
She felt hands on her shoulders, and did the best she could to bat them away. Was it an infected? Was someone calling her name? She couldn’t tell with the ringing in her ears…

Summary
First it was her parents. Then Riley, and then Tess. Sam and Henry came next. At fourteen, all Ellie knew was loss. She should be used to it by now- expect it, even. What she didn't expect was to become so fond and attached to the grumpy, emotionally-unavailable smuggler that's spent the last three months protecting her at all cost. Despite her initial doubts, they were in this together now. Or at least they were, until Ellie finds out Joel's plan all along had been to ditch her the very first chance he got.
Or: Ellie overhears Joel's conversation about leaving her & rather than agreeing to go with Tommy, she takes off to find the Fireflies on her own. But David and his group have other plans for her. Basically episode 6 & Ellie dealing with the aftermath of episode 8 (with some changes & angst).
