Summary
Jackson's early spring chill lingers. Eighteen-year-old JJ, eager to prove himself, joins Ellie – the woman he sees as a father – on his first patrol, promised a special birthday gift tied to a painful past.
A sniper shot shatters the peace. A brutal ambush drags them into hell, staining their return with blood and tearing open an eighteen-year-old wound: the Fireflies' shadow never faded, and the "immune" curse resurfaces in deadlier form.
Inside Jackson, trust frays. Miles away in San Francisco's ruins, Abby confronts her past and senses a new madness festering within her faction. When Ellie becomes prey again, Abby, driven by an old debt, sets out with Lev. Tommy's revenge burns hot, but the truth is darker.
Amidst the ruins, a heavy legacy falls to JJ: Ellie's fractured guidance, Joel's guitar, the agony of loss, and a bloodline secret that could change everything, thrusting him into the storm's heart.
