"Jay touched Nick’s bouncing leg as the car stopped. “Still a bit worked up?”
“Yeah, I guess.” Nick forced a laugh, turning his head away. “I’ll be okay, though. Maybe I just need another cigarette. Or another drink.” That last part was muttered under his breath. He knew how Jay felt about his vices, how he frowned when he saw Nick pour himself yet another class of wine.
Jay shook his head, pulling Nick out by their shared grasp and tugging him inside. “I think I’ve got another idea.”"
Nick had a rough day at work and needs to blow off some steam. Jay helps him.

Tav has scrapped her way through her twenties to finally have a life she can be proud of: she co-owns her own tattoo studio with her best friend, she wears what she wants and does what she wants, and she even has enough money to get good coffee most of the time.
Is she happy? Yes.
Does the very existence she’s worked so hard to earn make her completely incompatible with the beautiful, buttoned-up florist across the street? Also yes. Unfortunately, it doesn’t make her want him any less.
