Summary
You guess that your trauma manifests in all the normal ways. You get tense during the fighting scenes in action movies, which is especially rough when it comes to your weekly movie nights with John. You don’t keep any metal silverware in your apartment so you don’t have to hear the jangling of metal against metal, even if Jade lectures you about the environmental impact of single-use plastics. You haven’t gone to the hospital in your adult life because there’s some part of your brain that’s still a scared kid who thinks that you’re going to get in trouble if anyone finds out that you’ve gotten hurt.
And sometimes, you are just filled with this cold sense of uncontrollable anger that you don’t know what to do with.
