Spoilers for War Storm!
"Mare shrieks in pain, and I look down to see her glassy, hazel eyes. I could slit her throat right here and now, but I want to drag this scrap out a little longer. I grab her by her hair, lifting her up so that her knees are just above the ground and she winces further. One arm shoots up to hold her hair while the other latches onto mine, and it feels as if electricity is humming in her veins and tingling my skin even though I know it is not. Perhaps it's just the giddiness that comes whenever our skin touches, or the usual butterflies in my stomach I get from being so close to her. It's almost provocative."
