“Have you been well?”
Sieun opened his mouth, but no sound came out. There was a huge lump in his throat.
“Mhm,” he managed to hum in response.He saw Suho’s eyes shift to the friends standing quietly behind him. All three were watching them silently. They were aware of the heavy atmosphere, and they stood there carefully, even controlling their breathing so as not to disturb the moment.
“Who are those behind you?”
“My friends,” Sieun said, his voice hoarse and faint. He felt like he could cry at any second. Could Suho see the tears forming in his eyes even from this distance?
“I’m glad,” Suho said, a faint smile appearing on his face. Sieun felt that he looked relieved.
His breath caught. The weight of the air around him pressed down on his lungs. He took short, broken breaths. Now he was smiling too.
Finally, he thought.

Sieun’s shoulder lifted in a slight shrug. “I’m just glad you let me come.”
Suho waited for him to continue, to which Sieun resorted to staring at the glowing streetlights. “I don’t know. I just…felt a little down these past few days.” He glanced at him then, just for a second before looking away again. “This helped.”
Sieun chewed his lip before continuing. “And…..you like sweet things, don’t you?”
Suho stared at him, caught completely off guard. Sure, he liked sweet things. But his favourite was standing right in front of him.

Sieun looks up at him through the thick fan of his lashes. His eyes are dark. Bottomless. Pure liquid.

No distractions, just the two of them orbiting each other like they were the only ones who mattered to each other. And in that universe, it was Sieun who was in that room with Suho. It was Sieun who Suho was holding like that, it was Sieun who had his fingers tangled in his hair like that, it was Sieun who –
Sieun shut his eyes tight. God, what the fuck was wrong with him?
Suho’s got a girlfriend. Sieun’s got a problem with that. But it’s not like they were anything more than best friends. Right? Just friends. Who kissed. A lot.
