Summary
The first time he meets the Red Hood it isn't on Roy's payroll. Which is good because despite his very successful crime empire, Roy is sure he could never afford it. Instead he got a very expensive front row seat to the gruesome massacre of a much hated rival and intended future business partner. A precise massacre. Not even a hair on any of Roy's peoples heads is harmed.
Hood is confident and cocky and he pushes Roy against a wall with a blade under his chin to tilt his head back. Forcing him to meet the black nothingness under the hood in the eye. "Don't be next," a low rumble of a voice commands. Roy nearly wants to be anyway.

Summary
Duke walked through without saying a word, huffing as he headed to the kitchen.
He's never seen the kid so riled up, hackles raised and something akin to a tired rage in eyes. He was usually a pretty laid back kid, not at all close to Daimian or even Tim in his constant ability to get ticked off. If something got him, it got him good.
(Duke wasn't a kid who grew up sheltered. He'd seen the worst of the city, living in the Narrows for most of his life. Jason knew from the haunted look in his eyes whenever it was brought up. He knew that look because he had it too.)
