Summary
Laurent and Damen have been together for five years. Laurent is a medical student when they meet and Damen is an Akielon football player on the rise. They meet through Auguste, who is friends with Damen and also a football player.
Five years into their relationship, Laurent is starting out as a surgeon in Marlas. Damen is deemed to be the best in Akielos. He is insatiable and limitless in his ambition and hard work. When that gets in the way of their relationship, Laurent suddenly doesn’t see a quiet ending in their life. So he makes the hard decision to end things with Damen. It’s brutal, angsty, painful, and sad. :(
Two years later, they meet again in entirely different circumstances. Laurent is the chief surgeon, who runs the surgical floor. And one day, Damen shows up in his ER.

The story is a twist in the original timeline. I’ve always liked that the characters in CP are imperfect and try their best. I always wondered what it would be like if they don’t meet at the point in their lives where they’ve both learnt their own personal lessons, almost like at an imperfect timing, but only better.
