He thought he was doing just fine, but, apparently, he was taking "too many painkillers" and had to learn to "work with his body." After being forced to get a cane by everyone in his life, Neil must grapple with the next stage of his life; learning to live as a cane using omega.
But how can he? After all, Neil wasn't allowed to be in pain.
