Summary
“Let me see whether I understand our predicament," Legolas said. "I want to sail, but I need to remain. You want to remain, but you need to sail.” His smile returned, gentler now. “Between us, it seems, we have been given two perfectly reasonable fates and each assigned the wrong one.”
While Minas Tirith learns to mend, Frodo and Legolas meet in a forgotten garden, each listening for a shore he cannot yet choose. In the quiet after victory, they speak of mercy, of the wounds that remain, and of the hope that no voice is lost beyond the life of the World.
(Also, why wasn’t Legolas more prominent in The Lord of the Rings? Read on and find out!)
