Summary
There was still a season to play while life sorted itself out for Erling. Between that, and Erling’s last training, and Erling’s last match, and the goodbye party with the BVB staff, and the goodbye party with the team, and the goodbye party with the closer lads right now, it feels a bit like Jude’s spent the last few weeks trapped three goals down in stoppage time. The game’s as good as over, and here he is, tiring himself out with a few more pointless runs, his foolish mind hoping for it to stretch just long enough for something incredible to happen, while some deep instinct within him tenses for the inevitable—the final whistle making it real.
Or, it's Erling's last night in Dortmund, and Jude walks him home.
