“I’ll dance with you,” Bucky interjected, partly because it looked like Steve might say yes. Peggy fixed him with that look again, the one that said I know what you’re doing. But what was he doing? Helicopter-parenting this date? Throwing himself in the path of a temptress so that Steve could escape with his wits intact?
“Oh, I’m not giving up that easily,” she said smoothly, fingers still curled around Steve’s wrist.
“Me neither,” Bucky insisted boldly. “And I’m really good at dancing.”

An emotionally stunted fuckwit struggles to adult and emerges from his chrysalis as a beautiful butterfly (sort of) Part II.
Marriage wasn’t exactly what he thought it would be like. They weren’t like married couples on the telly or in films or like his parents, who’d yelled and screamed and thrown things a lot, or like the neighbors next door growing up, who drank wine and went ballroom dancing on Friday nights. Barry felt less like his husband and more like a partner in crime, which technically he sort of was, and had been for awhile. But now it was just the two of them, heading out into the great unknown, and when he thought about all those nights he’d spent alone, sleeping on that hard mat in the community centre, he was so fucking grateful and relieved that this was how it had turned out.

Colin is a touchy guy. Jamie knows this. Rebecca fucking Welton knows this. Everybody who has ever met Colin knows this.
And, they're footballers. They get a free pass on physical affection and entire stadiums full of die-hard fans who will no-homo on their behalf.
Jamie has just never been mates with a touchy person before with the added layer of said touchy person seemingly deciding that you're fair game to use as a teddy bear. He's never allowed anyone to be touchy with him the way he allows Colin to be, really. It's mad, and he has nobody but himself to blame.
Or: Jamie discovers not only that he has feelings, but that he's gone and caught them for Colin. What's a reformed twat to do?

Dani lands on his back, Jamie’s mudsoaked legs tangled with his. Jamie props himself up with his hands on either side of Dani’s head. Both their breaths come in short and fast, the oxygen in their lungs sharpened by the chase. A bit of Jamie’s hair flops over his forehead and tickles Dani’s nose. His gaze darts between Dani’s eyes, his nose, mouth, face.
Dani reaches up to wipe a hank of his own drenched hair from his eyes so he can see Jamie more clearly. It’s then he realises that Jamie’s eyes aren’t actually green.
