It's not that Gu Yun minded how Chang Geng handled state affairs or how Chang Geng handled /him/, it was that Gu Yun felt himself getting too comfortable, too compliant. Whether Chang Geng had matured with age or learned how to be more suave with his seduction tactics, Gu Yun was irked all the same that his compliance made him easy prey. This frustration was one that had been building slowly over some time, not that Gu Yun noticed it at first.

Toudou moved so their noses were touching, faces so close they were practically sharing the same breath. Makishima’s eyes were closed, and he looked like he was struggling to contain any embarrassment. “This part of Maki-chan is beautiful too…” Toudou whispered, drawing their lips closer and closer until they met in a kiss.

Summary
It would be a lie to say Makishima hadn’t thought about telling Toudou about his University plans. Of course he had. On more than one occasion. But thinking and saying something out loud are different. Once you say something out loud it becomes an inescapable reality.
Now, as he stands by the large expanse of thick paned windows, looking out over the tarmac of Tokyo International Airport, the reality couldn't be any more inescapable anyway.
