Pomni watched as the last few tiles fell into the vast unknown below, wondering if she could've done anything to change how things turned out. If a good ending could've been in reach. Not even that, even a bad ending would've been okay as long as everyone was still alive.
Kinger was melancholy and grieving, but there was some sort of serenity that could be found if you looked closer. "Pomni... please, just, whatever happens next, know that this isn't your fault."
Pomni stayed quiet as she hugged her knees tighter.
Kinger put his hand on her shoulder. "Despite it all... I'm glad I got to meet you. Thank you. For making this place a bit better than it was."
Pomni felt her tears start to drown her as she looked at Kinger, nothing but honesty in her features. "I don't want to die. Not alone."
There wasn't even a soft breeze to accompany such a moment. They had nothing except each other in the little time left. "You won't."
Pomni chuckled mirthlessly, but she trusted him.
She trusted him more than anything.
An alternate ending where Caine is permanently deleted, and the circus cast start to get worse and worse as the world around them slowly fades away.
