    Liv Bilton lived in the next town over. Harrisville, Indiana. It was a quiet, small town where everyone knew everyone. Nothing strange or unusual ever happened in Harrisville, Indiana. It was utterly boring.

    To escape her boredom, she often ventured over to Hawkins, where she babysat a family friend and lifelong best friend, Dustin Henderson. He was her source of excitement. Between comic books and cartoons, she had all the fun she missed out on in Harrisville.

    Things were good. They were normal, and although a bit boring at times, Liv managed.

    But Hawkins, Indiana, drew in many strange, unruly beasts. And due to an unlucky circumstance, Liv suddenly found herself in the middle of inexplicable danger. Danger that would make her miss her old life of boredom in Harrisville, Indiana.
