She checks again, and yeah, Will is holding a stuffed bear, not a cat. The beloved Tiggy stays firmly attached to his bag, so they aren’t playing with tigers, either.
“So they go back down the mountain, and now all the village people are asking them about the crystal, and Rory is sad thinking they didn’t get it that whole time, but then–”
“Meow. Meow,” Will declares, removing the teddy from the dinosaur’s back and making it do some sort of interpretive dance.

Or, Mike makes a new friend. Nancy learns how to speak cat.

Summary
“I just, I guess I don’t really understand what’s so special about them. They’re just hands," Mike says.
Will huffs. “Well, obviously, but they’re your hands, Mike. Yours. And they—” He holds his own palm up to Mike’s. “They’re bigger than mine."
“Yeah?”
Will’s staring at where Mike’s fingertips stick out above his. “And your fingers…”
“What about them?”
Will shifts in Mike’s lap. He brings Mike’s hand to his lips again, and then he presses kisses to the pads of his fingers before whispering, “They’re so long.”
Oh.
Oh.
or, Will can't stop staring at Mike's hands. Mike finds out why, and then he does something about it.

El's frown deepens. "I guess," she says, because she supposes she could see it- there had been a split second, right before Max spoken up, where she'd expected something else to happen, although she hadn't exactly been sure what. "They are friends, though."
"That's what they all say," Max hums.
Every time El thinks she has this society thing figured out, someone throws her for a loop.
