Family. He had some left in New York, but New York didn’t feel like home anymore. Talking to his 80-year-old cousin felt useless because he was seeking something that wasn’t there and could never be. Every link to the past was gone. Rebecca was gone. His mom and dad were gone. The girl he left behind for the war was gone. Steve was gone. At one point, Bucky was glad to be alone. Keeping a low profile, he’d gotten used to it. Until now, he was starting over in a real way. Starting over was what he wanted since he got back to himself. Now he was doing it with a family. Life like this is sweet, he thought to himself.

This “season” Calliope speaks of is one of many reasons Sarah somewhat hates being a part of southern high society. It’s the time of the year when young unmarried men take time off from managing their businesses or come back from studying at university and the women come back from University and etiquette school to find a proper partner. Every event; dinner parties, brunches, horse races, galas, grand balls, and even picnics are all set up for the children of cotton kings, sugar barons, steel moguls, oil, and railroad tycoons to find each other and get married. Sarah doesn’t mind the events, she doesn’t even mind the suitors' request for an audience with her. She just hates the pressure of it all. This is her second season of all this and she has yet to meet a suitor that stimulates her mind. They all offer the same thing and say the same thing “ Along with my many estates I could greatly enrich your father’s business” Sarah just wants to hear something new.

He grasps her hand in his, his hand covered by a smooth buttery leather glove.
“I’m James, his Big Brother,” he says nodding his head toward Peter.
“His big brother? That’s one hell of an age gap.”

She notices Peter looking at their hands still clasped and pulls her hand from James’ grasp because she’s sure he won’t let go first.

It wasn't until Sam REALLY looked at one James Bucky Barnes freshly shaved that he saw the face of his oldest nephew starring back at him. Except that was impossible. Sarah would have mentioned, when she could be prodded into talking about Jody's father, him having a gotdamn metal arm!
No there was no way. It had to be a coincidence. Hell Bucky had, had siblings, maybe Jody's dad was just a nephew who bore a striking resemblance to Bucky. Yup that was totally it. He, Sam Thomas Wilson and future(though he didn't know it) Captain America was not about to drop his sister's long lost lover into her lap. Nope. Not happening.
