Summary
Shane sat on the edge of the lounger, his eyes fixed on Ilya’s hands as he rolled. He was in total awe. Watching Ilya was like watching a master craftsman; there was a fluid sort of grace to the way his large, scarred fingers manipulated the delicate paper. The hands that spent all winter punching pucks and shoving opponents were suddenly performing a task that required the precision of a watchmaker.
He licked the adhesive strip with a quick swipe of his tongue and sealed it, twisting the end into a neat point.
“Fuck” Shane nearly moaned.
Ilya chuckled. “We have not even started moy kotenok. Be patient.”
Ilya grabbed the lighter from the table and lit the end, the cherry glowing a bright, steady orange. He took a small, controlled puff to ensure it was burning evenly, then turned to Shane. “Okay. Do not pull like you are gasping for air. Just a soft breath. Into the mouth, then take a little fresh air with it to the lungs. Then, hold it for a second before breathing out.”
Or: After figuring out some patterns and doing research, Shane smokes weed for the first time and thoroughly enjoys himself.

"The baby has to grow. My stomach has to get big and big and big so the baby can be healthy."
And so everyday the kids are lifting Shane's shirt up to see if his stomach is getting any bigger and they get sad every morning when they don't see anything. But when it finally pops, Valentina is the one to see it first and squeaks, "The baby is coming!!" She yells in excitement."
"No, no sweetheart. Not yet." But the youngest babies are already running downstairs. "Baby is here?" Remi asks
"Where? Where is it?!? Ryan pants breathless, lifting up his mom's shirt.
"Ilya, please get your kids." Shane calls out
///shane and ilya get unexpectedly pregnant and are about to add baby #7 and #8 to the mix.

She stares at him much like the way his husband just stared at him. He watches her face freeze before it breaks and she starts wailing out in tears. "Oh honey, it's me. Papa." As he walks towards her, she screams terrified and hides under her blanket, "Daddy!!!" She cries out. Shane comes in and picks up his daughter and turns around and sees Ilya is standing in their way, "Excuse me, stranger"
//ilya gets a buzzcut. shane feels betrayed and their four year old reacts like those videos of a child seeing their dad without a beard for the first time

The uproar in the arena is deafening as the ref finally skates out of his way, but Shane is by Ilya’s side now, his hand clutching his husband's. “I am here, baby,” he repeats over and over again. First in English, then in Russian. “You are okay. You are going to be okay, my love.”
OR
(Secret) Married life has been very generous to Shane and Ilya following a drunken night in 2015. Until Ilya collapses on ice, that is.
