The tablet slips away from Yasmina (but Sammy could literally care less about the stupid tablet, all she cares about right now is Yaz, Yaz, Yaz), and the Mosasaurus falls back into the lagoon without its intended meal. With the connection severed, the brave athlete all at once hurtles towards the ground and lands hard.
Sammy gasps at the sudden sharp pain that shoots through her ankle and climbs up the length of her leg.
Wait. What?
No. It can’t be.
The word ‘soulmate’ runs through her head.
