Not for the first time in his life, Manepear thanked his feline genetics and all the boons they’d bestowed on him throughout his life - like how quiet his footsteps were, to the point that little demon targets didn’t notice him until he was already towering over them.

"'Would you be cool with it if I hung out with the others for a bit?' Pentar asks. 'I think they wanted to play with the maces.'
E’s shoulders relax. He smiles. 'Of course I’m cool with it, man. Go spend some time with your friends.'
Pentar beams, unclasping his chestplate with practiced ease and shimmying on his elytra. 'Sweet.' He tugs his elytra open to unfurl the wings, slides a firework rocket into the launcher. 'But they’re your friends too, y’know.'
And then Pentar’s taking off to the sky, calling out towards a figure high above him. 'Clown! Let me see if I can get a mace crit on you off of an elytra launch!'
Pentar flies further up and out of earshot, gone before E can correct him. Because they’re not E’s friends too, not really."
