Summary
The dainty gold band sparkled upon her finger as it reflected the warm candlelight. Every time Joyce would cast a glance to the hand that was now clutching his shoulder, the diamond’s shining glimmer would cast shapes onto his flannel as a gentle, unbelievable reminder. It still felt so surreal.
Post season 5/series finale. Joyce and Hopper revel in their privilege to come home to an empty house and celebrate their engagement in which they are much louder than those damn crickets.

Summary
Joyce hums as she moves around the radio station's kitchen- the kids had a tendency not to put anything away, so she was attempting to tidy up the small space. It was also an excuse to keep her hands busy while Hopper and El made a supply run, so she cleans up cereal bowls and puts away half-finished sleeves of saltines, wiping down counters and doing dishes as she goes.
Jonathan and Nancy were somewhere in the station, Robin and Steve likely with them, but she hadn't seen them since she'd started her deep clean of the kitchen. She's straining on her tiptoes, trying to reach a sleeve of crackers that had fallen from an open box, when she hears the footsteps.
"I got it Mom, relax," Jonathan says, touching between her shoulders until she eased back onto her heels from her tiptoes as her eldest son snagged the crackers easily, setting them on the counter top.
"Thanks, sweetheart," Joyce said, smiling at him- but there's a shadow in her son's expression, and Joyce's brows draw together as she frowned. "What's wrong, Jonathan?"
