Komaeda and Kamukura have a self-serving and transactional relationship. They're here to use each other, it's entirely mutual and they both understand that. Walking for far too long, Komaeda is insistent that they take a break and is desperate for Kamukura's attention, who has been ignoring him the whole day. The only suitable resting place Kamukura can find happens to be an old car, and he knows how to get Komaeda in it.
