Wakatoshi stops with his movements, his eyes lost in a spot of Tooru's shoulder. Tooru follows his gaze to check if there is something wrong, but finds nothing. Wakatoshi must be thinking, or choosing his words perhaps. But what is there to think about? He should know why he risked his life to save someone he had never met before.

Tooru's nails dig painfully in the spiker's thigh, but the pain is not even remotely comparable to the one caused by the bitterness of his own words swallowing his every sense.
Tooru is not facing him and Wakatoshi is afraid of the expression he might be wearing.
“You are lying, Wakatoshi... You have never lied, and yet now you are.”
The setter's voice is unrecognizable, so low and weak Wakatoshi can barely hear it. But he does.

“Well, yeah, Tokyo’s huge and Tokyo universities are huge.” Oikawa wanted to roll his eyes. “If you wanted a smaller city, you should’ve moved to one. Why else would you come here?”
“To play volleyball,” Ushijima said, having not picked up on the sarcasm.
“Other things are important, Ushiwaka-chan. Enjoying where you live, resting, and relaxing is just as important as being on the court,” Oikawa said and immediately felt that he sounded like a less angry Iwaizumi.
“I’ve recently learned that,” Ushijima replied.
Oikawa studied Ushijima and noticed the slight change in his posture again. His shoulders seemed less… confident, in a way.

Setter. Student. National Champion. That was how Oikawa would have described himself before Ushijima transferred to his university. Now, Oikawa was expected to be a friend, tutor, and teammate to his lifelong rival. While Oikawa grapples with his new responsibilities and uncovers the reason why Ushijima transferred in his second year of university, he realizes that Ushijima is not the same person he knew in Miyagi.

Summary
Every day that he wakes up facing Oikawa was a day better than the day before. Every time he catches a glimpse of Oikawa smile or laugh, his heart felt warm and content.
But life was too peaceful. Like the calm before a storm. And Ushijima was worried about the future of their relationship, especially after what happened with Yuuji's.

Summary
Realistically, Oikawa knows that the chances of Ushijima and him running into each other are low. Or - they have been until now, assuming they both entered the university at the same time. He wasn’t entirely sure how they’d gotten this far without bumping into each other if they had.
But despite the probabilities and reassurances from friends, Oikawa sees Ushijima again, and this time Ushijima sees him too.
With the amount of thought he’s been putting into Ushijima since Oikawa spotted him last week, Ushijima might as well have been around the whole time anyway. It was like Oikawa had wished it into existence, though maybe it was more of a curse.

Two years after Oikawa and Ushijima break up, they meet each other again, and Oikawa is less than thrilled. But just like before, he's swept along in the quiet storm that is Ushijima Wakatoshi.- Language:
